Black Diamond is an adventurous quartet that features the music of saxophonists Artie Black and Hunter Diamond. The group's instrumentation creates a space for high-energy improvisation and melodicism. Though heavily influenced by jazz music of the 1950s and 60s, the quartet’s compositions feature elements of contemporary folk and world music.

In the spring of 2015, Black Diamond performed a three-month residency at Andy's Jazz Club in downtown Chicago. In the fall, they received a month-long residency at the Drake Hotel through the Chicago Jazz Institute's NextGenJazz series.

August 2017 will mark the release of their debut recording, Mandala. It features nine original compositions from Black and Diamond, and will be accompanied by US and European tours.
