For three weeks I will be an artist in residence at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, FL. I will be studying composition and improvisation with Nicole Mitchell, who is one of the foremost artists on both fronts of modern pan-american/pan-african traditions. All of the material created during this residency will be featured during a month long New Works residency at Chicago’s Whistler in September.
